It’s time to go on tour, the day has come to pick up your rental car and hit the road. After crossing the Firth of Forth, alongside the the iconic Forth Rail Bridge, you will head north and enter Scotland’s rolling lowlands. The first stop along the way is St Andrews, one of Scotland’s oldest towns and famous worldwide as the birthplace of golf. We then recommend a visit to Glamis Castle, famous for it’s notorious ghost stories, and then onwards to discover the beautiful Dunkeld Cathedral, on the banks of the River Tay. Tonight you will stay in Pitlochry, a picturesque Victorian village ideal to spend a romantic evening together.
A stone’s throw from Pitlochry you will find the spectacular Bruar Waterfalls and magnificent Queen’s View, where you can capture the outlook that stole the heart of Queen Victoria in 1866. Next stop is Stirling. Scotland’s history was heavily influenced by events that took place in this beautiful medieval town, in particular the battles of Stirling Bridge and Bannockburn. A visit to Stirling Castle provides a grand view of the impressive National Monument to William Wallace. On joining the M9 motorway, be sure not to miss the giant sculptures of the Kelpies to your right, the famous horses of Celtic mythology will announce that you will soon be arriving back in Scotland’s capital city of Edinburgh.
